Sanjen Khola78MW Hydropower Station Project in Nepal is located in Rasuwa District of Bagmati Zone in the central region of Nepal, 170 km away from Kathmandu, the capital of Nepal. Relying on the Sanjen River, the power station is a runoff hydropower station with a total installed capacity of 78MW and an annual generating capacity of 422.635GWh. It is mainly comprised of civil engineering i.e. head of pivot, diversion tunnel, pressure pipeline and plants, etc., electromechanical equipment, access roads and 10km-long 132KV single-circuit power transmission line to Chilime Junction. The construction period of the project is 4 years and its operation period is 30 years. CHEC holds 92% of its shares and the local developer Salasungi Power Limited (SPL) holds 8%. The total investment of the project is about 154 million US dollars.

Characteristics and Significance of the Project:

It is the first hydropower station project for whose general contracting, investment, construction and design is the responsibility CHEC. It expands CHEC’s business in Nepal and accumulates experience for CHEC’s investment and construction of water conservancy and hydropower projects.
